Venice is a destination for refined gastronomy and exceptional wines. This philosophy inspired Barolo Night, a private wine evening hosted in our exclusive Signature Apartment, dedicated to one of Italy’s most celebrated wines: Barolo.
Barolo is often called “the King of Wines and the Wine of Kings.” Produced in Piedmont from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, Barolo is renowned for its elegance, structure, and ability to age gracefully. To celebrate this iconic Italian wine, we created an intimate evening where wine, food, and place came together in harmony.
For this special occasion, we invited restaurant owners and wine professionals to experience a guided tasting of Barolo vintage 2016. The goal was not only to taste exceptional wines, but to create an atmosphere that our guests at Palazzo San Luca can also enjoy — a wine experience in the heart of Venice.
During Barolo Night, guests tasted a curated selection of DOCG 2016, comparing styles and philosophies of some of Piedmont’s most respected producers. Among the wines featured:
Giacomo Conterno – Barolo Cerretta 2014. An iconic name in Barolo, known worldwide for its depth, structure, and longevity.
Rinaldi – Barolo Tre Tine 2016. Elegant and complex, from one of the most traditional producers in the region.
Rocche dei Manzoni – Barolo Vigna d’la Roul 2009. A refined and expressive Barolo that showcases innovation and tradition combined.
Réva – Barolo Cannubi 2016. A modern interpretation from one of Barolo’s most prestigious crus, Cannubi.
Mirafiore – Barolo. A historic winery connected to the origins of Barolo itself.
The dinner was curated by Chef Marco Garbin, who designed a menu specifically to accompany the Barolo wines, focusing on balance, seasonal ingredients, and clarity of flavor.
Barolo Night is a perfect example of how luxury accommodation in Venice can go beyond staying overnight. It becomes a story, a memory, and a sensory journey.
